DCAM-API Drivers for USB, developed by Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., is the official driver and runtime package that enables Windows PCs to recognize and control Hamamatsu scientific cameras over USB. It installs the necessary USB device drivers and DCAM-API libraries so imaging applications can detect connected cameras, configure acquisition parameters (exposure, ROI, binning, triggering), and stream image data reliably with low latency. The package provides the standard interface used by Hamamatsu software and many third-party tools—including Micro-Manager and custom applications written in C/C++, .NET, MATLAB, or LabVIEW—and supports compatible Hamamatsu USB 3.x/2.0 cameras for microscopy, life science, and industrial imaging workflows.
